reviving this thread.
can anyone give me some tip on burning movies to a playable dvd for a regualr old player?
what format blank DVD should i use? ( my burner burn any format ;including expensive ass dual-layer)
what format the movie has to be in to be burned?
avi, mpeg , etc
what program do you use to do the actual burning?
is there a program that can convert rmvb back to avi or mpeg?

A few good programs to use are DVD Shrink, DVD Decrypter, and AnyDVD. If you are burning from a DVD, use the Shrink program to compress the video down to fit on a regular 4.7 dvd. Sometimes you have to use DVD Decrypter to break copy protection on certain dvd's then use Shrink to compress the file to fit on a dvd. I use Nero 6.6 to burn to dvd. Most of these programs, except Nero, can be found on www.doom9.org or www.afterdawn.com.
