^^funny you mention that.I pulled up in a parkin lot earlier today pumpin The A-team(a hiphop group)of course I had the volume loud enough to grab anyone within 50 feets attention.I pull up,open the door, wipe the rims off,and theirs this guy a couple spaces down cleanin his windshield.I guess he got annoyed of the hiphop. So I cut off my engine and walk into the shopping complex, and he starts Blasting Prince'! his new album lol...
I guess he felt he had to rep for the old heads...
And I aint mad at cuz, cause Prince sold more in 2004 with his new record, than 50 cent did with 'Get Rich Or Die Tryin',And the promotion wasn't even all that wonderful!!..
Prince is a Legend fa'sho!..

(Pretext: While I had around 80+ CDs in my extended, borrowed for life collection, I didn’t pay for a CD until ’94, thereto I was raking in BMG’s 14CDs for a penny, under multiple aliases. Here are the first CDs bought by genre.)
Candlebox (Rock)
http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B000002MKO.01._SCLZZZZZZZ_.jpg
(Yes, that cover is crazy ghey.) http://img146.exs.cx/img146/9909/jerkit8rj.gif
The Chemical Brothers (Electronica, bĩtch.)
http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B000003RY5.01._SCLZZZZZZZ_.jpg
(Who would have guessed some three-years later I would be working with Astralwerks and swiping their entire back catalog?)
Jay-Z (...)
http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B0000024MU.01._SCLZZZZZZZ_.jpg
(Cough up a lung, niggah; where I’m from?)
Reggae (Er, really now?!)
http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B000006O0T.01._SCLZZZZZZZ_.jpg
Brian McKnight
http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B000001EWU.01._SCLZZZZZZZ_.jpg
(Only bought this BS 'cause some chick I was talking to in college said that Anytime joint kept her moist. But a niggah still refuses to pay for anything remotely R&B... 'ight, maybe I'll throw a few pesos in D'Angelo's direction, but that's fucking it.)

Mm..had to be Schooly D 'Smoke Some Kill'.
Other than that, I used to dub tapes all the time and rarely bought albums when I was younger.
Anyone remember dubbing tapes? I guess I'm showing my age. Especially when you dub from a UTFO record to a tape deck. :D

Back when I was 15, I bought P. Diddy's "No Way Out." It's ironic now because, I still have the album, yet I hate his ass.

I forget which came first, but it was either "King Tut" by Steve Martin. Was really a single. Or, the name escapes me, a album by The Chipmunks. And that shit was on 8-Track tape. So now I'm dating myself.

I caught onto hiphop kinda late, cause I was born in Washington DC and raised in MD.We had our own Style of music and still do till this day with 'GoGo'.
GoGo consists of Live Bands, with various instruments, emceeing, singling out certain individuals with their instrument to get they shine on,etc...
Aint no party in the WORLD like a GoGo party.
But yea,as far as hiphop is concerned, the album that really opened me up to this artform, and gave me the courage to propose in life long matrimony is..

I bought the Ice Ice Baby 12" when it came out. Ain't no shame...as a matter of fact I bet (depending on which crowd I am playing for) if I dropped a snippet of it in a club during my old school set it would still work!

The first album I ever bought was Prince Purple Rain. It's funny cause over the years, that was the only thing that I have consistantly replaced. I originally got it as a record, replaced it to get the tape, and now own the cd.
